Hello, I'm actually writing in regard to my sons' situation. He is now 24 years old and needs extensive dental work to fix his teeth. The dental work is needed due to the treatment of an illness he fought courageously when he was 15 years old. He was diagnosed with a brain-stem Melanoma. (Brain tumor). He was in and out of the hospital for the next 2 and a half years. His treatment consited of 4 surguries and frequent radiation and chemotherapy. The doctors had told us that there could be some side effects including dental breakdown due to the treatments. The brain tumor treatment did leave him with a couple of disabilities. But he survived even after he was given last rites late one night. What I am basically looking for is an answer to the dental work he needs. I can not cover him on my insurance because he's considered an adult. (Not a full-time student). He is only able to have a part-time job due to his disabilities. I'm sure a nice smile would immensly improve his self-esteem and bring more opportunity to him. We just need to make it happen. If there is a foundation and/or group and/or kind person out there that could help us make that happen for him, we would wholeheartedly appreciate it. Thank you.
